My name is Angi Littrell and I am so excited to be joining the Chiseled Spirit team! I’m originally from Wyoming, but I have been here in Oregon most of my life. I am a wife and mother of two boys-25 and 16, and a 13-year-old daughter. When I’m not doing CrossFit, I love being outdoors enjoying nature and hanging out with my family, or doing some thing challenging like an adventure race or long hike.
Growing up I was fairly active, participating mainly in volleyball and softball in school. I was introduced to Muay Thai fighting in my mid twenties, which progressed to boxing and Capoeira. I absolutely loved it, but as my family grew, I became less and less active, gaining 40 pounds and just feeling completely terrible-physically and mentally.
In January of 2015 in my late thirties, I decided to give CrossFit a try. I was immediately hooked! I loved that there was so much variety in the workouts, from weight lifting to gymnastics movements with cardio mixed in. I never got bored and I actually looked forward to working out! I saw results in my body and strength almost immediately, which in turn, boosted my confidence. I participated in the CrossFit open in 2017 and 2018, and now 2021, and I’ve done a few local competitions.

I joined Chiseled Spirit at the beginning of 2021 and shortly after, I took the steps to become a CrossFit Level 1 trainer. It has been a goal of mine for quite a while and I’m so glad I finally did it! I am looking forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be!

Carlos Nuno Owner/Coach
I grew up being very active in sports and athletics as a kid in Central California. After high school, I went on to play college football for one year at Modesto Junior College, then spent four seasons (1 redshirt and 3 playing) at BYU where I was the starting tight end for the Cougars.

Following college I played in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins, and had the great experience of playing in NFL Europe for the Berlin Thunder in World Bowl IX.  I found CrossFit following my professional football career and it gave me the opportunity to stay in shape, and still fuel my competitive spirit. After seeing the benefits of CrossFit in my health and wellness I opened Rockwell CrossFit in Woods Cross, UT because I wanted to share CrossFit’s benefits with others.  Currently, you can find me helping coach my kids’ teams around Philomath in almost every sports season throughout the year. I am glad to open a CrossFit box in Philomath so I can spread the many benefits of CrossFit and functional fitness. I am also excited to build a community of wellness in Philomath by providing our community a way to live a more functionally healthy life.

My name is Kari Jaques, I am the mother of 2 beautiful, rambunctious little girls, wife to my better half Paul for over 10 years, and personal trainer for 7 years. We enjoy competing in Obstacle course races, doing water sports, snowboarding, camping and anything that involves being active as a family.

I’ve played sports and been active all my life. I played volleyball and softball in college, and also competed in swimming, track and basketball most of my life. After my college career was complete, coaching and training was the next logical step for me and I’ve been lucky enough to have had many opportunities to work with athletes at many levels. I am currently a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, National Academy of Sports Medicine Master Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist and MMA Conditioning Specialist (among other things).

After competing in high level sports my whole life and a car accident many years ago, I have had to deal with and work through some serious injuries. Through CrossFit and regular exercise, I’ve learned that being fit and strong is the most important factor to keeping me out of pain. And that’s VERY IMPORTANT to me!! I will continue this active lifestyle as long as possible and hope to help as many people as possible to do the same!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone—people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.

With constantly varied, high-intensity functional movements, CrossFit is a training philosophy that coaches people of all shapes and sizes to improve their physical well-being and cardiovascular fitness in a hardcore yet accepting and encouraging environment.

The simple answer is no. You get fit by doing CrossFit.

Fundamental classes teach you the basic movements and if you cannot perform any of them the coach will modify the work before you.

The beauty of CrossFit is that every single person can do it. Everything in CrossFit can be scaled, meaning modified to the athletes level. For example, if you have never done any exercise in your life the coach at the box will give you more time to go through each movement until you get it. You will not have any weights until the coach can see that you are ready for it.

Some of the people in your class probably will be fit, but many beginners have no background in sports. Don‘t worry doing CrossFit will show you progress very soon. Just don´t try to compete against them yet.
